We encourage everyone who is a member of Compass Bible Church to find ways to use their time, talents and abilities to serve God and the church. One of the eight distinctives of Compass Bible Church is that we would all be HIGHLY COMMITTED PARTICIPANTS. Whether it is guiding people safely through the parking lots each weekend, leading a small group or writing cards of encouragement, there are opportunities for all of us to be involved in caring for and building up the church body. If you have gone through Exploring Compass, check out all the opportunities to serve below.
There are plenty of ways to serve in our dynamic Compass Kids Ministry with ministry happening mid-week on Wednesday nights, on Sunday mornings during weekend services and throughout the summer.
The Compass Connect Ministry is typically the first ministry guests come into contact with when visiting Compass Bible Church. It includes serving at the connect table before and after services, and answering questions about ministries. If they fill out a connect card, we follow up with them during the week and try to connect them to ministries they are interested in. Typically you would serve on Compass Connect every other week.
The Welcome Team at Compass greets our guests, directs them through the campus and provides help when needed. They’ll help to create a warm and welcoming environment by connecting with guests and assisting in any needs or answering questions they have. We have opportunities for door greeters and auditorium greeters.
The Food Services team prepares, sets up, and cleans up the refreshment for weekend services. You can be assigned to the service of your choice and work a shift after or before the service you attend. This is a behind-the-scenes serving role but everyone loves the refreshments!
Compass Coffee Co. is open on the weekends before and after services along with other special events. If you have barista experience, or love coffee – this is a great opportunity to serve the church body. You’ll be fully trained on making all of the coffee drinks we offer and coffee service begins 30 minutes prior to weekend service and approximately 30 minutes after.
Our Compass Bookstore is open before and after weekend services and stocked with books, Bibles and more resources. Serving at the Bookstore means you can help folks find and purchase the resources they need…and you can serve before or after a service you already plan to attend. You can sign up as often as every week, every other week or once a month.
Musicians wanted! There are opportunities in the main service worship team as well as throughout the church as a whole. The requirements are for worship team members to be committed to growing spiritually, serving the church, and excelling musically. If you are interested, please fill out our Worship Team Application, then you will be contacted to schedule a time to meet with our Worship Team Leader.
With ministry taking place throughout the week on campus, there are always opportunities to serve in Audio, Visual & Lighting at Compass Bible Church! If you would like to serve the church behind the scenes as part of our talented Tech Team, please click to sign up and serve!
Our Media Team makes sure all of our main services and teachings are recorded and streamed live along with photography and other media needs.
In the usher ministry, our desire is to serve the body of Christ at church services by assisting with seating and providing an environment for people to concentrate on the teaching and worship. Our theme verse is 1 Corinthians 12:4-7. When you join the usher ministry you will be assigned to a team on one service and will be scheduled to serve every other week.
The Parking Ministry provides parking assistance for both church services. Individuals show up 30 minutes prior to the start of the service and serve for approximately 40 – 45 minutes. They will be assigned to a parking team associated with the service time of their choice. Additional opportunities to serve in this capacity are also available throughout the year.
The Fix-It Ministry takes care of repairs, building projects, painting, cleaning and maintenance around the Church campus. We also occasionally do projects for our widows at their homes. Anyone can serve in the Fix-It Ministry! We can use people with no construction or handyman skills to help with labor and cleaning projects. We can also use people with knowledge in plumbing, carpentry, drywall, electrical and other similar skills.
The setup and teardown team ensures that all of our ministry events, from weekend services to summer kids camps are setup and ready to go. This includes setting up tables, chairs, ezups outside and more!
Our Security and Medical Teams are passionate about protecting and serving others. They are responsible for providing security and medical services in order to create and maintain a safe and welcoming environment, protecting life and property, and responding to incidents in partnership with our public safety partners.
